What is the difference between a Website Manager and a Content Manager?

The Website Manager is responsible for the “technical” or “back end” of the website whereas the Content Manager is responsible for the “content” or “front end” of the website.

The “back end” of the website includes and is not limited to the following:

  • Domain/ICANN/WHOIS
  • Hosting
  • WordPress Installation
  • Theme Installation
  • Plugin Installation
  • Installing and testing updates to WordPress, Theme and Plugins
  • Performance Monitoring
  • Security Monitoring
  • Backups

The “front end” of the website includes and is not limited to the following:

  • Fonts
  • Colors
  • Logos
  • Images/Graphics/Videos
  • Design Layout
  • Page Layout
  • Copy updates
  • Landing Pages
  • Pop ups
